Dubai 2019: Air Arabia Orders 120 Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft

Dubai Airshow 2019 – Air Arabia has placed an order for 120 Airbus A320neo aircraft, bringing an end to year long discussions with Airbus and Boeing about new aircraft.

The deal, valued at $14 billion at list prices, comprises of 73 A320neos, 27 A321neos and 20 A321XLRs. Air Arabia already operates 54 A320 Family aircraft, including the A321LR.

Attending the signing ceremony was Air Arabia’s Chairman Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chief Executive Officer Adel Al Ali and Guillaume Faury, Airbus Chief Executive Officer.

Air Arabia has its central hub at UAE’s Sharjah airport and has operating bases in Moroco, Egypt and Ras Al Khainmah.

Deliveries of the new aircraft are expected to commence in 2024. No engine selection has been made so far.
