ANA Airbus A380 performs maiden flight

The first Airbus A380 for All Nippon Airways (ANA) has successfully performed its maiden flight.

MSN 262 only just recently rolled out of the final assembly line in Toulouse where it was then transferred to outside facilities for additional fitting and checks.

The aircraft is now situated at the Airbus Hamburg facility where its being prepared for cabin fit and painting. ANA has selected special Hawaiian themed liveries for its three A380s, symbolizing the sky, ocean and sunset. This was chosen as the airline plans on deploying the high-capacity aircraft on the Tokyo-Honolulu route.

Four Rolls-Royce Trent 900s will power each aircraft and its 520 seats through the air whilst offering a common maintenance base with the Trent 1000s in operation with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet.

First delivery of the type to the airline is scheduled for early 2019.
