Qatar Airways First Class Review
“Our A380. It’s all in the detail.”
World Class service moves to another level
Qatar Airways A380 First Class
QR837 Bangkok to Doha
Departs 1:40am Arrives 4:40am
The trip started at Survanabhumi Int’l in the evening…3 check-in agent assist me at once.
Qatar First Class passengers are invited to use Thai Airways Royal First Lounge in Bangkok.
I was taken to this private room.
And the lovely Thai lounge staff brings me food and drinks.
They have a slumber room for some relaxation before flight.
The lounge is very quiet and offer ample space and seating.
While you’re enjoying, time flies, it is time to commence the long walk to the gate, Thai Airways will use the golf buggy only on their flights but not on other airline flights….
Unfortunately due to a gate change, we have to board the A380 at a remote bay. I have done this once in Jeddah, Saudia Arabia. You will notice how much taller A380 is….
Walking up the stairs on A380….
“You’re our only guest in First Class tonight!”
The First Class cabin features 8 ultra-wide seats tailored in the softest fabric and with signature design elements. Central and aisle dividers afford more privacy, which can be raised or lowered to provide a feeling of extra spaciousness when travelling with a companion.
I enjoyed a glass of Krug and a glass of mimosa to chill down the Bangkok heat. But it’s Halloween night and I am alone, so I invited the lovely flight attendant (who is also a personal friend) to join me in.
Onboard Dining
Below are just one of many wine/champagne on offer:
I have the Caviar as starter.
Follow by a delicious Duck Croquette (don’t get deceived by the look, its outrageously delicious!)
As always, you can expect impeccable service from the caring and attentive crew, who are passionate about providing exceptional customer experiences and award-winning service that comes from not just looking after your needs but anticipating them.
After a quick supper, it is time to sleep.
The seat automatically reclines into a fully flat bed. Sleeper suits, flight slippers, and the finest amenities from renowned Italian fashion house Giorgio Armani add extra touches of luxury.
I’m sleeping on cloud nine!
Here is the rest of cabin I visited: The lavatory (2 in front of the First Class cabin on both side)
The onboard bar lounge area (located behind First and Business Class)
The lounge is a sanctuary in the sky, the ideal place for First and Business Class customers to relax, read your favourite magazine, or just enjoy the ambience.
Under the stunning chandeliers, inspired by contemporary Arabian design, you’ll find fresh flowers gracing the lounge.
I even have time for an early breakfast before landing.
A Sweet Ending
It was really a short 6 hours overnight flight….With Qatar Airways A380, they’ve taken the world-class experience to another level. Don’t get the wrong idea by the simple look, as the airline said, “it is all in the detail”. The First Class seat is extremely comfortable in both lounging and sleeping position. I always prefer an open space instead of surrounded by walls and screens. The level of privacy is done just right to me. What set them apart is the great customer service onboard, I can firmly say Qatar Airways has the best service from the Middle East and is my preferred airline.
There’s more!
