Delta’s got a new look! And that started with a brand new color for the uniforms: Passport Plum!
Overnight, starting in Sydney, Australia, all 64,000 members of the Delta workforce, from flight attendants to ticketing agents to mechanics, began wearing the new garments. At 7:30 am this morning at the Atlanta airport, Delta’s hub, a catwalk had been set up in the international terminal, as Delta staffers walked on stage in a sea of plum and grey, with dashes of red.
I was one of the few bloggers invited by Delta to witness the event at Atlanta before taking 2 unique fashion flight to Minneapolis and LA where the staff staged a fashion catwalk down the aisle of the plane and surprised many passengers! Catch the fashion flight and all its detail on the video.

Zac Posen's resume would be the envy of a designer twice his age. Now the wunderkind who burst on the scene in the early 2000s can add another accomplishment to his lengthy list: Thousands of Delta employees worldwide just started wearing his designs.
The whole redesign process took three years.
The celebrated New York designer says that he has always been fascinated with planes and loves flying and was fully aware of the enormity of the challenge. And this redesign was no small task. Posen explained that he shadowed dozens of Delta employees over the last few years to learn every inch of the cabin and every detail of their duties — from in-flight services to baggage handling — so he could create a look and fabric that worked for their every need.
They wanted to create a unique look that didn't look like other airlines, Posen told me. And that started with a brand new color for the uniforms: Passport Plum.
Below are some pictures of the Delta crew in new uniform onboard the Delta flights on May 29th.
On both flight from Atlanta to Minneapolis and Minneapolis to LA, a fashion show was the in-flight entertainment of many surprised passengers. See video.
