Oman Air recently debuted its new and exclusive premium lounge at the newly opened Muscat International Airport. The enhanced guest experiences started with a dedicated check-in area for all First and Business Class passengers with direct immigration and security check.
The new Premium Lounge is located one floor above just after duty free area. The whole process from curb-side to the lounge took no longer than 10 minutes for me.
The beautiful interiors of the lounge have been influenced by the truly unique terrain found in Oman.
Spread over two story, the lounge offers guests a wide array of food and beverage services including dining areas and bars, luggage room, entertainment area, a smoking room, prayer rooms, business centre, kid’s room, nap area, shower facilities, baby changing facilities and a wellness area. (yet to be opened during my visit)
First Class Section
Below is a picture report of the Oman Air First Class Lounge.
First Class section is separated from the Business Class section with ample seating area. There are curtains for privacy.Behind the seating area is the First Class Bar and dining area, with additional seating area. The design of the lounge utilize natural lighting. Nature has been the inspiration behind this lounge and the elegant and tranquil surroundings offer semi-public spaces with plenty of light.
The First Class bar area is well stocked with many different bottles of whiski.
For dining, the lounge offer a la carte dining. There is a dedicated chef to take your order.
There is also a private room for those travelers who wish to relax and sleep.
I really like the First Class section. With only a handful of flights featuring First Class, the lounge is expected to be light and quiet, which I felt like having my own private lounge! This is an absolute advantage for Oman Air First Class passengers.
Business Class Section
During my visit, Business Class section was a little more busy around 12pm as Oman Air have a large bank of flights depart between 1-3 pm. Nevertheless, the lounge is really impressive and offer a large array of amenities.
There are two dining area, with the first one more crowded so I suggest traveler use the 2nd dining area in the Oman Air Business Class lounge. The F&B offering is quite comprehensive. There are about 5-6 hot dishes on offer, as well as bread, soup, salad and dessert.
Behind the dining area, there is more bench seating and Business Class bar area with a smoking lounge for smokers. There are private area for rest, private bedroom, family rooms and also private cinema room (large TV screen) available towards the rear of the lounge. Everything looks new! The lounge is well staffed. Even during busy hub hours, the lounge doesn't feel overly crowded at all!
Overall, the Oman Air First and Business Class Premium Lounge is a vast improvement over the old lounges at old terminal. Both lounge offers all the right amenities for the discerning traveler like me! Spa and wellness area on the second floor is expected to be open soon to make the lounge experience even better! With many attractive airfares, Oman Air Business Class passengers are in for a treat when transit next time at Muscat.
