A United Express Embraer ERJ-145 with the registration N14171 operating by CommutAir, as UA4933 from Newark to Presque Isle, Maine left the runway just after landing.
The flight took off from EWR at 10:04 am, after 1 hour 30 minutes of flight time the Embraer attempted to land at Presque Isle (PQI) but was forced to do a go around. During the second attempt, the aircraft landed but slid to the right of the runway.

There were 28 passengers and three crew members on board. One pilot and three passengers reported minor injuries.
As the picture below shows, the aircraft suffered serious damage; the landing gear had sheared off and wedged itself between the fuselage and the left engine.

CommutAir issued the below statement:

CommutAir, operating as United Express, is an American regional airline founded in 1989. Today the airline has 30 Embraer ERJ-145’s and operates more than 800 weekly flights to more that 30 destinations.

Hey same, could you try the air Tanzania please and let me know what your review on it.
Interesting that in the story by the bangor daily news, one of the passengers on board said the plane did not skid off the runway but missed the runway altogether.
Be interesting to see what the FAA investigation determines.
Assuming those injured recover quickly, the best outcome from this accident would be if United doesn’t fix that plane and takes it out of service. One less terrible RJ-145 in the air would benefit the flying public.
