Coming summer 2020, United Airlines will be connecting four new US cities to Tokyo Haneda – the airport that is closest to the city.
Luck was on the side of United Airlines last week as the US Department of Transportation granted them 4 out of the 12 slots to operate to Tokyo Haneda. Counting in the existing San Francisco – Tokyo Haneda service, United Airlines will be connecting 5 US cities out of Tokyo Haneda and 7 US cities out of Tokyo Narita.
Here are the 4 new flights that will be operating out of Tokyo Haneda:
1 Daily B777-200ER Flight Between Chicago O’Hare – Tokyo Haneda Starting 28 March 2020 (Replacing Tokyo Narita)

With these new flights rolling out on 28th March 2020, United will still continue to operate to the following 7 US destinations out of Tokyo Narita: Guam, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Denver, Houston, Newark and San Francisco.
With the additional flights from Haneda, this means United will now be able to offer double daily flights from Tokyo to San Francisco, Los Angeles and Newark beginning 28th March 2020.
