Following the final approval for American Airlines and Qantas to form a joint business; American Airlines will be launching two new seasonal routes, between US and New Zealand with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner in 2020. As of now, American Airlines flies directly between Los Angeles and Auckland.
Route 1: Los Angeles to Christchurch
Starting from 27th October 2020 to 26th March 2021, American Airlines will be providing 3x weekly direct flight services between Los Angeles and Christchurch. American Airlines will be the only carrier that flies directly between these two destinations.
This route will be operated by the Boeing 787-8 aircraft. It has a total of 234 seats – 20 Business Class, 28 Premium Economy Class and 186 Economy Class seats.
The flight schedules are as follows:
- Los Angeles to Christchurch – departure 23:30 | arrival 09:25 (+2 days)
- Christchurch to Los Angeles – departure 13:10 | arrival 06:00
Route 2: Dallas to Auckland
Starting from 25th October 2020 to 25th March 2021, American Airlines will be providing a direct flight service between Dallas and Auckland. This direct flight will operate 3x weekly through 29th November 2020. Daily service will begin on 1st December 2020.
This route will be operated by the Boeing 787-9 aircraft. It has a total of 285 seats – 30 Business Class, 21 Premium Economy Class and 234 Economy Class seats.
The flight schedules are as follows:
- Dallas to Auckland – departure 22:30 | arrival 07:40 (+2 days)
- Auckland to Dallas – departure 11:15 | arrival 19:10
