If you are travelling through Canada, in the short term, take part in the Easy Peasy WestJet Status Match challenges, to get free cabin upgrades, checked bags, lounge access and seat selections on WestJet.

This Status Match comes in three challenges. No commitment at all for this first challenge, as long as you are an eligible elite members of selected airlines.

Eligibility and Benefits for Matching WestJet Sliver and Gold Status

Here are the elite tiers that can match with WestJet Sliver Status:

  • Altitude: 25k
  • Alaska Mileage Plan MVP
  • VIPorter Passport
  • United MileagePlus MVP
  • British Airways Executive Club Bronze/Sliver

WestJet Sliver benefits are as follows:

  • EconoFlex fare passengers are eligible for complimentary upgrade to Premium
  • Advance seat selection vouchers
  • Lounge access
  • First and second checked bags free
  • Priority check-in

Here are the elite tiers that can match with WestJet Gold Status:

  • Altitude: 35K, 50K, 75K and 100K
  • Alaska Mileage Plan: MVP Gold, MVP Gold 75K and Million Mile Flyer Status
  • VIPorter Priority
  • United MileagePlus: Premier Gold, Premier Platinum and Premier 1K
  • AAdvantage: Executive Platinum, Platinum Pro, Platinum and Gold
  • British Airways: Executive Club Gold

  • Early access to purchase an upgrade to Premium or Business

WestJet Status Challenges

WestJet Status Match come in three phrases. Subsequent challenges entitle you to retain WestJet Elite status for a longer period.

Challenge 1: Status through 30th March 2020

Submit the request form between 15th November and 15th December 2019, with the following information:

  • Your first and last name
  • Your 9-digit WestJet Rewards ID (provided to you upon joining WestJet Rewards)
  • Email and phone number on your WestJet Rewards account
  • A scanned copy or photo of your top-tier membership card from Altitude, VIPorter, AAdvantage, United MileagePlus, Alaska Mileage Plan or British Airways Executive Club showing your name, current 2019 status valid through to a minimum 31st December 2019

Challenge 2: Status through 30th June 2020 (additional 3 months)

Upon completion of Challenge 1, you need to take a minimum of one flight between November 15, 2019 – March 31, 2020:

  • AC Altitude and Porter members must take minimum one WestJet flight anywhere
  • American, Alaska and United Airlines members must take a minimum of one U.S transborder flight
  • British Airways members must take a minimum of one transatlantic flight

Challenge 3: Status through 30th June 2021 (additional 15 months)

Upon completion of Challenge 1 and 2:

  • Gold members with a minimum qualifying spend of $3,000 (between the date of upgrade in Challenge 1 and June 30, 2020) will retain Gold status for another year, until 30th June 2021
  • Silver members that have a minimum qualifying spend of $1,500 (between the date of upgrade in Challenge 1 and 30th June 2020) will retain Silver status for another year until 30th June 2021
