British Airways B787-10

Operating Routes For British Airways New B787-10

British Airways B787-10

British Airways will be receiving their first Boeing 787-10 in January 2020. Out of the 12 on order, 6 are expected to roll in next year. So what does it mean for passengers? On top of the new Club Suite Business Class, you can expect a denser premium seat configuration on the B787-10 (in case you want to play your odds on operational upgrades).

The new B787-10 will be operating to the US first in 2020. Note that British Airways currently has 30 Dreamliners, with 12 B787-8s and 18 B787-9s.

With 256 seats on-board, below is the seat configuration on these aircraft:

  • 8 First Class seats in 1-2-1 configuration
  • 48 Business Class seats in 1-2-1 configuration
  • 35 Premium Economy Class seats in 2-3-2 configuration
  • 165 Economy Class seats in 3-3-3 configuration

As you might have already figured out, there seems to be not much of a difference between First Class and the Club Suite; apart from the fact that First Class will not have privacy doors, while the Club Suite will have them.

  1. i have been on the BNA ( Nashville international airport ) – LHR AND LHR-BNA
the plane was a 787-8 not a 787-9 i don’t think they should use the 787-10. Even though the new club suite would be nice for the jump across the pond. i would go with a nine if there is higher demand but it would be useless to use a B787-10 there is just to much space.

  2. We travelled Business Class From Vancouver to London – expensive and not particularly good. No pillow, blanket or socks until I asked. Coming back, we travelled Premium Economy Plus. Configuration of seats, two – three – two. All aisle and window seats were taken, I had misfortune to be in the middle seat and that would not recline. They had three dinner choices, but ran out of the beef – the two remaining were awful. B/A sell off blocks of seats to other carriers who offer prices cheaper than what we paid booking directly through B/A. We have travelled frequently with B/A through the years, but never again.

  3. Service and the quality of food and drink in the BA First class cabin is way better than in the Club Suites / Club World cabin. Who cares for the door? I never use it on the A350-1000.

  4. No clear distinction ? That First class seat looks much larger and doesn’t need the door as bad since there is more space. I for one think the doors are stupid and any blogger who calls it a suite is just helping the airlines marketing gimmicks. Mm
