According to Loyalty Lobby, Singapore Airlines and Mastercard are offering a free Business Class upgrade for paying customers booked into Economy Class. This space available upgrade is available on selected flights originating from Bangkok to Singapore. Promotion will end on 31st March 2020.
Here are the key details:
- Space available upgrade only
- Restricted to tickets issued for travel originating from Bangkok to Singapore
- Mileage earnings remain unchanged (accordingly to your fare class in Economy Class)
- Redemption tickets or K booking class are not eligible.

SQ 983 Bangkok to Singapore

One other thing to note is that there is no website landing page to this promotion. This promotion is notified via the email address that is registered under the Krisflyer account. Probably because my registered home address is in Singapore, I did not receive this promotion in my email. Supposing that there is no aircraft change, SQ981 and SQ983 are currently being operated by the Boeing 787.

There is no such thing as guarantee as an upgrade. Paid Business passengers always come first, that is for any airlines.
