Lounge Hopping Changi Terminal 1

Singapore Changi Terminal 1 Turned Into Oneworld Lounge Hopping Heaven

Lounge Hopping Changi Terminal 1

Since the recent opening of Qatar Airways Premium Lounge and Qantas First Lounge, Singapore Changi Terminal 1 has turned into a lounge hopping heaven; this is for Oneworld eligible status tier members and First & Business Class travellers, who are flying with Oneworld member airlines.

With up to 5 lounges to hop around I highly recommend you to allocate some time before your flight, for some serious lounge hopping at Changi Terminal 1.

Here are the lounge options in Changi Terminal 1, if you are travelling with Oneworld member airlines:

In addition to the above list, Oneworld member airlines may direct their elite status members and premium cabin passengers to SATS and DNATA lounge. While the SATS and DNATA lounges are decent, they are not worth hopping by unless you are in need of a good massage chair such as at the SATS lounge. Note that you are eligible to access the selected lounges in the list above.

If you are connecting from a First/Business Class flight to an Economy Class flight, you may have the lounge access as well. As per Oneworld lounge access rule:

“First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).”

  1. Sorry, while I can’t say you won’t get access, I don’t agree with this:

“Passengers of any class of travel may access the lounge provided that they are i) connecting from a Oneworld marketed and operated First/Business Class flight on the same day of travel and ii) the scheduled flight time of the next connecting flight out of Singapore is longer than 5 hours. (e.g Landed from Qantas Business Class MEL-SIN and connecting on British Airways Economy Class flight SIN-LHR)”

The OneWorld rules enable access when transfering from international long haul (over 5hrs) in business/first to international short haul/domestic in economy (and vice versa). You’re example is connecting international long haul to international long haul.
