Emirates Biometric Path

My Emirates Biometric Path Experience

Emirates Biometric Path

Emirates have launched their ‘Biometric Path’ at Dubai International airport (DXB). The contactless airport experience is now open to Emirates passengers travelling from and through Dubai.

The biometric touchpoints are currently installed at select First and Business Class check-in desks in Terminal 3 at DXB. When I visited there were staff on site to guide passengers through the registration process.

First you must be registered in the system, the process takes less than a minute. Simply have your eyes and face scanned and also give your consent to the biometric process.

After registration, I was able enter the Emirates Lounge in DXB at Concourse B via my facial and iris scan. The process was swift and took just 2 seconds for the machine to read my face scan. No more boarding pass and of course the process is all contactless.

Then at the boarding gate, the areas where biometric gates are installed are clearly marked.

Of course you do have to remove your mask to use the biometric gate. The whole process went very smooth. Watch the video below:

Hint: Do remove your mask to use the biometric kiosk as it won’t recognize your face with the mask on.

The whole process was extremely user friendly and easy. No more paper, no more contact, no more looking around and panicking about where you left your boarding pass when at the gate. Currently the new biometric technology is on trial at selected boarding gates in Dubai Airport.

  1. Great, thats escalation of technology during pandemic and might be standard facilities in the future, like what had already applied in Terminal 4 Changi Intl’ Airport, even bit different…

  2. Hi Sam,
I have really enjoyed your emails.

Does anyone have any concern about sharing this biometric information with an airline/corporation? I guess if you want to fly you don’t have a choice. Was biometric path required?

  3. Wow! That’s great. I just went through dxb last week. I didn’t see it. I’ll keep an eye out next time.

Do you know have Emirates reinstated their first class service? Not that I found the reduced service to shabby
    Thanks
