After reinstating their onboard dining and hot meal service in April 2021, Turkish Airlines has announced the return of their in-flight chef service – Flying Chefs; available for Business Class passengers, on long-distance flights eight (8) hours or longer.
The Flying Chefs are responsible for cooking and overseeing food preparation. Turkish Airlines’ high-quality dishes, served by the Flying Chefs, have previously earned the airline many awards, including the title of the “World’s Best In-flight Catering Service” on numerous occasions.
Starting on 1st May 2021, passengers on long-distance flights, eight hours or longer, can once again enjoy gourmet dishes prepared by the airline’s dedicated Flying Chefs. However, the meals will be pre-plated and serve with cover on as part of the health measure. There will be no trolley service on appetizers or desserts.
“Throughout the past year, we’ve had to make many adjustments to our product and service offerings, to protect the health and safety of our passengers and employees. Our award-winning dining service and Flying Chefs program is a distinguishing aspect of the airline and we are happy to reintroduce this our worldwide guests, to make the flight experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.”
M. Ilker Ayci, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee
Turkish Airlines has resumed their onboard dining, and hot meal service, on all Business and Economy Class flights longer than two hours 15 minutes flight time since April. Turkish Airlines also mentioned that their regular food and beverage offerings at Istanbul Lounge will also be returning.
