Cathay Pacific has revealed an all-new Boeing 777 ‘Aria’ Business Class suite featuring sliding doors, and wireless device charging.
Expected to debut on the carrier’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in the second quarter of 2024, Cathay has teased the new suite with a promotional video.
The promotional video provides a glimpse into the design features of the new Business Class suite.
New Cathay Pacific Boeing 777 Business Class Suite
- Sliding privacy door
- Wireless device charging capabilities
- 4K in-flight entertainment screen with Bluetooth audio
- Extended wings for enhanced privacy even with the door open

Even with the door open, extended ‘wings’ are poised to ensure a degree of privacy, catering to passengers’ preferences when they’re not resting or working in ‘Do not disturb’ mode.

In addition, the Business Class cabin features gentle curves and woodgrain-like surfaces. To enhance the in-flight experience further, a drawer is available under the wide shelf, providing extra storage space for personal belongings.

Despite the anticipation surrounding the new Business Class suite, details regarding the seat’s exact dimensions and configuration remain under wraps.
Cathay Pacific Boeing 777-300ER Fleet
Cathay currently operate 39 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which are configured in either a three-class economy, premium economy, and business class setup or a four-class layout that includes a first-class cabin.
The new Business Class suite might have been originally designed for the long-delayed Boeing 777X jets. Cathay Pacific holds 21 orders for the 777-9 model of the Boeing 777X, but the delivery of these aircraft has faced delays.
Boeing has pushed back the delivery to 2024, and Cathay Pacific announced in October 2020 that the delivery of the 777-9 fleet has been postponed beyond 2025.

I’m impressed by the design and features of the new Cathay Pacific Boeing 777 business class suite. It looks very spacious, private, and luxurious. The drawer under the shelf is a nice touch, and the extended wings provide extra privacy even with the door open. Cathay Pacific has really stepped up their game with this new product.
I really dislike this trend towards narrower and narrower J seats. I like elbow room sitting up and room to turn over when I’m lying down. The new style pods have less personal space that the old style BA pods or the 8 abreast UA pods. Attn airlines – you’ve gone too far with all the plastic and doors and other privacy nonsense. I want space for me, not for more plastic junk around me. OK rant over, great website. Keep up the good work!
