10 New Upcoming Business Class Seat

⁠1. Air New Zealand Business Premier, Premier Luxe

Aircraft: Boeing 787-9
Expected Entry into Service: May 2025
Routes: Auckland–Brisbane, followed by San Francisco, Rarotonga, and Vancouver

Air New Zealand will debut its new Business Premier Suites on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner from May 19, 2025, beginning with flights to Brisbane and San Francisco. The full fleet retrofit is set to finish by the end of 2026.

The redesigned cabins will feature Safran’s Visa Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 herringbone layout, offering lie-flat beds, retractable privacy shields, and upgraded tech, though no sliding doors. Luxe Suites in the front row will offer a wider space, sliding doors, buddy dining seats, and 24-inch entertainment screens.

Most Dreamliners will carry 22 Business Premier seats and four Luxe Suites, while ultra-long-haul aircraft will have 42 and eight, respectively.

2. American Airlines Flagship Suites

Expected Entry into Service: June 2025
Routes: Chicago – Los Angeles, Chicago – London, Philadelphia – London/Zurich, Dallas – Brisbane

American Airlines will launch its new Flagship Suites on its new Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A321XLR aircraft, with retrofits planned for the Boeing 777-300ER fleet.

The fully enclosed suites include lie-flat seats, sliding doors, ample storage, and a design that allows for shared seating for travel companions. As the A321XLR will make its debut with American Airlines, it will be the first time the airline will be offering private business suites on narrowbody transatlantic flights.

⁠⁠3. SWISS Senses Business Class

Aircraft: Airbus A350-900, Airbus A330, and Boeing 777
Expected Entry into Service: Summer 2025

SWISS is set to debut its Senses Business Class cabin across its long-haul fleet. These new seats will offer direct aisle access and a mix of layout options, including classic single suites, extra-long bed configurations, and enclosed seats with sliding doors.

Each seat includes a 17-inch 4K display, wireless device charging, Bluetooth audio connectivity, seat heating and cooling, and a design emphasizing privacy and warmth with claret and anthracite tones.

⁠⁠4. United Polaris Elevated Business Class

Aircraft: Boeing 787-9, Airbus A321XLR
Expected Entry into Service: Late 2025

United Airlines is upgrading its Boeing 787-9s with a new Elevated interior, set to debut in late 2025. International routes, including San Francisco–Singapore and San Francisco–London, will follow in 2026.

The airline’s new United Polaris Studio suites are positioned in the first row of each business class section and total eight lie-flat, all-aisle-access seats that are 25% larger than standard United Polaris with privacy doors, an extra ottoman seat for companions. Each of these suites features a sliding door, a 27-inch 4K OLED screen, wireless charging, and Bluetooth audio.

Moreover, the standard United Polaris seats also get upgraded to suites with the addition of sliding doors and larger, 19-inch 4K OLED screens. United plans to retrofit or take delivery of 30 787-9s with the new interior by 2027, making Polaris Studio the new long-haul flagship experience.

5. Riyadh Air B787 Business Class

Expected Entry into Service: Late 2025

Riyadh Air has unveiled its Business Elite suites for its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The front row features four Business Elite suites in a 1-2-1 layout, with the front center seats convertible into a double bed. Each suite includes a 32-inch 4K OLED IFE screen, multiple charging ports, and built-in headrest speakers.

Behind the Elite section, there will be 24 Business Class suites, each with direct aisle access, fully flat beds, and headrests embedded with Devialet stereo speakers.

⁠6. Turkish Airlines Crystal Business Class

Aircraft: Boeing 777, Airbus A350
Expected Entry into Service: 2025

Turkish Airlines has unveiled its new Crystal Business Class suite, debuting a 1-2-1 layout, an upgrade from its older 2-3-2 setup. Revealed at the 2024 Farnborough Airshow, the suite features sliding doors, high sidewalls, and retractable privacy dividers for the middle seats.

Built on the Safran Unity platform and produced by Turkish Cabin Interiors, each suite includes a lie-flat bed, 22-inch 4K screen, Bluetooth audio, wireless charging, and universal power ports. The design draws inspiration from Japan Airlines’ A350 and Air India’s new cabins.

Retrofits will begin in May 2026 on the 777-300ERs, with half the fleet updated by the end of the year. The new suites will also be fitted on Airbus A350-1000s operating flights to Australia in late 2026.

7. Qatar Airways QSuite 2.0

Expected Entry into Service: 2026

Qatar Airways unveiled its QSuite 2.0 Business Class product at the 2024 Farnborough Airshow, introducing several changes to enhance privacy, flexibility, and onboard functionality.

The Next-Gen QSuite includes a wider seat measuring 23 inches when upright and expanding to 27.5 inches in bed mode, with an overall bed length of 80 inches. These suites will be introduced on Qatar Airways’ upcoming Boeing 777X and future Airbus A350 deliveries. Highlights include wireless charging, 22-inch 4K OLED screens, and a redesigned center Quad Suite. Suite walls remain at 56.25 inches, ensuring high privacy and comfort.

⁠8. LOT Polish Business Class

Aircraft: Boeing 787-8
Expected Entry into Service: 2026

LOT Polish Airlines is upgrading its Boeing 787-8 Business Class cabins with Recaro’s CL6720 seats configured in a 1-2-1 configuration, replacing the existing 2-2-2 layout.

Each seats will feature sliding privacy doors, 17.3-inch 4K in-flight entertainment screens, wireless charging, USB-C ports, Bluetooth audio support, and additional integrated storage. Developed in partnership with Recaro, Safran, Tangerine, and Viasat, the refreshed cabins will roll out gradually through 2026.

⁠9. Singapore Airlines A350/B777-9 Business Class

Singapore Airlines is rolling out a new Business Class cabin across its A350-900 fleet as part of a S$1.1 billion upgrade inspired by its upcoming Boeing 777-9 interiors. The revamped seats will offer sliding doors, improved flat-bed comfort, and greater privacy for long-haul travelers.

SIA Engineering will handle the retrofits in Singapore. The A350-900ULR will see an increase to 70 Business Class seats, while standard variants will carry 42. The first updated aircraft is set to enter service in Q2 2026, with the program wrapping up by 2030.

10. Qantas Project Sunrise Business Class

Aircraft: Airbus A350-1000
Expected Entry into Service: 2027
Routes: Sydney–New York, Sydney–London

Qantas has unveiled its Project Sunrise Business Class cabins for the Airbus A350, designed for ultra-long-haul flights from Sydney and Melbourne to New York and London. The A350-1000s will feature 52 Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, each with direct aisle access and sliding doors for privacy. 

Each suite includes sliding doors, lie-flat beds, large storage areas, an 18-inch UHD screen, and wireless charging. These cabins are tailored for comfort and privacy on ultra-long-haul flights lasting 18 to 20 hours.

Recently Introduced Business Class Products

1. Lufthansa Allegris Business Class

Lufthansa’s Allegris Business Class is now flying on nine Airbus A350-900s based in Munich. The new cabin product debuted in 2024 and is currently available on long-haul routes to major global cities in the United States and Asia.

For the first time, Lufthansa Business Class passengers can choose from five distinct seat types, including private suites, extra-long beds, or seats designed for couples. The Business Class Suite, located in the first row, features sliding privacy doors, chest-high walls, a 27-inch 4K screen, a personal minibar, a wardrobe, and Bluetooth connectivity. 

Moreover, the center pair can form a double suite, ideal for passengers traveling together. Other seat types include:

  • Extra-Space Seat with a larger work surface.
  • Window Seat with high privacy walls.
  • Seat with Extra-Long Bed, extending up to 2.20 meters.
  • Double Seat for two passengers to recline side-by-side.
  • Classic Seat, all with direct aisle access.

Each seat converts into a fully flat bed of at least two meters and offers seat heating and cooling, a shoulder sink-in feature for side sleepers, a wireless charging pad, and noise-canceling headphones.

2. Cathay Pacific Aria Suites

Cathay Pacific’s Aria Suites are now operational on select Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, currently flying daily between Hong Kong and London, and five times weekly to Sydney. Introduced in early 2024, the suites mark a major update to the airline’s long-haul business class product.

Each Aria Suite includes a sliding privacy door, a 24-inch 4K in-flight entertainment screen with Bluetooth audio, and wireless charging. The seat layout features extended privacy wings and personal storage beneath a wide shelf, alongside soft LED lighting and updated finishes inspired by modern design.

Developed in collaboration with JPA Design and based on Collins Aerospace’s Elevate platform, the Aria Suites are a customized evolution of Cathay’s earlier reverse herringbone seats.

3. Korean Air Prestige Suites 2.0

Aircraft: Boeing 787-10, Boeing 777-300ER
Expected Entry into Service: 2025

Korean Air recently introduced its new Prestige Suites 2.0 with the entry into service of its Boeing 787-10, marking the airline’s first business class suite with full sliding doors. These suites feature a 1-2-1 configuration and are set to be installed on 20 new Dreamliners and retrofitted onto 25 Boeing 777-300ERs in the future.

Built around the Collins Aerospace Horizon platform, each suite offers 117 cm of pitch, 53 cm of width, and converts into a lie-flat bed between 198–201 cm in length. Suite walls reach 52 inches in height for increased privacy. Tech upgrades include a 23.8-inch 4K screen, wireless charging, Bluetooth audio, and multiple charging ports, including 60W USB-C and AC outlets. Fast in-flight Wi-Fi will also be available on the 787-10s.

A unique feature of the layout is its alternating “honeymoon” seating arrangement in the center pairs, allowing passengers to lower the divider for shared travel.

4. LATAM New Business Class

LATAM has introduced its new Business Class suites onboard retrofitted Boeing 787-8 aircraft, now flying on routes from Santiago to Mexico City, Bogotá, and Miami. These aircraft will also be deployed on additional routes, including Easter Island, Madrid, New York, and Los Angeles, in the coming months.

The updated Business Class features fully enclosed Recaro R7 suites with sliding privacy doors, direct aisle access, and lie-flat seating. Each suite includes an 18-inch HD entertainment screen, USB-A and USB-C power ports, and dedicated storage spaces, including compartments for shoes.

These upgrades are part of LATAM’s $360 million cabin retrofit program covering 24 aircraft, including 10 Boeing 787-8s and 14 Boeing 787-9s, across its Chilean, Brazilian, and Peruvian operations.

Retrofit work is being completed at LATAM’s maintenance bases in São Carlos, Brazil, and Santiago, Chile, with each aircraft taking approximately one to two months. The project is scheduled for completion by late 2026.
