VietJet’s Preside and CEO reflected on the order in the following statement:

“The fuel efficient A321neo will enable use to increase capacity and help us to expand the network significantly, especially on international routes.”

This new order for the A321neo now takes the airline’s total order for the A320 family to 171, which 46 have already been delivered, leaving 125 remaining in the backlog. This figure consists of 120 A321neos and five A321 current engine option aircraft.

Additionally, VietJet has an order for 120 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, 100 of which are of the high-capacity variant and the renaming 20 are not confirmed and 80 737 MAX 10s.

In total, the Airbus A320 family has racked up over 14,700 orders, of which, 8000 have been delivered to 334 customers around the world. The transition to A320neo family only production and deliveries is expected in a few years time when Airbus deliveries all remaining A320ceo aircraft.
