What camera does Sam Chui use for his vlog? Here are a list of cameras I use for my video.

I use Sony A7 III Mirrorless camera primarily for my vlog. It is a great camera not only for video but also great for picture taking.

For lens, I recommend Sony 16-35mm f2.8 GM lens as it has great depth of field and works great for low lighting. Given most of my vlog are made in aircraft cabins, this wide angle lens works best for almost all situations and include self recording with great wide angles.

You also need a microphone for sound, I recommend the RODE Video Pro mic. You can attach the mic onto any DSLR camera.

I also have a much lighter and cheaper Canon EOS M-50 camera with kit lens. This camera isn’t full frame like the Sony A7 III but it ticks all the box for basic vlog for a fraction of the price.

I also have the Canon EF-M 55-200mm f4.5-6.3 Image Stabilization lens which is really light and smooth to turn, so it works great for hand held plane spotting zoom video without the need of tripod. It is 1.6x crop so 55-200mm means 88-320mm which is great for long and far shot.

I create all my wide angle action and 360 contents from the new Insta360 ONE R camera.

This is so far the best 360 camera and 4k wide angle action camera all in one, thanks to the interchangeable lens module, you can now have both 360 and 4k wide angle. The battery last much longer than GoPro. You can edit your footage with lot of cool effects in Insta360 ONE R Phone App on the go.
