Review: Oman Air Salalah Al Khareef Lounge
The ‘new’ Salalah International Airport in the Sultanate of Oman officially opened for traffic on the morning of June 15, 2015
I visited the new Salalah Airport in July 2016 and was really impressed how bright, airy and of course it is brand new! The new airport, which cost over 300 million Omani riyals, aims to enhance tourism given Salalah’s moderate weather during the summer attracts thousands of tourists from Oman and abroad. The project includes a passenger terminal, which will accommodate two million passengers per annum at the first stage and a 4km long main runway; which can accommodate even the largest airliners in the world.
Here are some picture of the terminal.
Oman Air have opened a dedicated lounge in Salalah and name it after Al Khareef lounge (which means monsoon, that Salalah is a popular destination about)
The lounge is located after security check point in the airside.
Business Class ticket holder, Oman Air Gold and Silver frequent flyer, Priority Pass and Lounge Key card holder can gain entry.
The lounge isn't huge in size, it has a very pleasant and relax appearance just like Salalah itself.
A good buffet is on offer.
Additional seating at the rear include a family area.
I love these lounge chairs. During my stay at the lounge, it was very quiet, no body even used them.
There are also 2 massage chairs.
Computer stations
And even a Kids playroom!
The new Oman Air Al Khareef lounge in Salalah is excellent. It has the right size and offer a good balance of relaxation and comfort. The food choices are excellent as well. I hope the lounge can keep up the fresh appearances.
