The first Qantas Project Sunrise A350-1000 aircraft has completed major production milestones at the Airbus manufacturing facility in Toulouse.
All key airframe components including the forward, centre and rear fuselage sections have come together, along with the wings, tail section and landing gear now attached. The aircraft will be transferred to a new hangar where it will have engines and flight test instruments installed, in preparation for an extensive test flight programme, commencing in 2026.
The first of 12 new aircraft is scheduled for delivery in late 2026, with the first commercial Project Sunrise services commencing in the first half of 2027.
Yesterday, I visited the world’s biggest airport diorama display again and took a few close up photos of the airplane models.…I wish they’re real — I’d probably be at the gate already 😂✈️
Just flew the new Air France La Première from Paris to LA.
After previewing the prototype earlier this year, Air France invited me to experience the new cabin — and here are my first impressions:
Private jet luxury vibes. No walls. No doors. No cubicles. Just style. ✨ Possibly the most elegant First Class in the sky. Details in my YouTube video soon.❤️✈️
Accident: ACT Cargo B747F at Hong Kong on Oct 20th 2025, runway excursion, aircraft broken up in waters.
The plane operated as EK9788 from Dubai DWC to Hong Kong with 4 crew, landed on Hong Kong’s runway 07L at 03:52L (19:52Z Oct 19th), slowed to about 100 knots over ground normally but then began to veer left off the runway, broke through the airport perimeter fence, collided with a ground patrol car at the road outside the fence killing both occupants, and went into the sea still at about 60 knots over ground, the aircraft broke up. All 4 crew were rescued and were taken to hospitals. RIP to the killed airport staff 🙏
