FARNBOROUGH: Boeing secures order for 747-8F and commitment for 777F
Volga-Dnepr and CargoLogic have agreed to take five Boeing 747-8 Freighters and have signed a letter of intent for 29 777 Freighters.
The deal was signed by the two companies during the beginning of the second day at the Farnborough International Air Show.
In addition, Volga-Dnepr is also in talks with Boeing about orders for new and converted 767 Freighters and converted 737 Freighters.
The 747 deal is valued at $2 billion at list prices and the 777 deal is valued at $9.8 billion. It is said the the cargo airline received a good price on the aircraft due to their relationship with Boeing.
CargoLogic intends to firm the 777 Freighter order once all documentation is complete and they’re happy with the prices.
The Group plans to utilize the 777 Freighters for expanded cargo operations that don’t require a large, four-engine aircraft.
This order and commitment runs with the growing trend of global cargo operations. Since the first day of the show, we’ve already seen two major freighter airlines commit to 777F aircraft.
