Last week American Airlines announced a bunch of new routes from their hubs to Europe. The most exciting route announced was from Philadelphia to Dubrovnik as no other airline flies direct to/from Croatia in the USA. You can now book those flights using miles or cash. If you were to purchase round trip tickets to Croatia, you would be looking at a minimum of $1,500 per person for an economy class ticket and a staggering $6,918 in business class. Award redemption’s are currently staring at 65,000 one way for an economy class ticket and 110,000 miles for a one way business class ticket. The points redemption option may not be worth the cost as American Airlines has yet to release any sAAver level award space and if I had to guess these flights should have sAAver space at some point.
