airBaltic unveils special livery on Airbus A220
airBaltic has unveiled a special livery on one of their Airbus A220-300s to celebrate the centenary of their home ground, Latvia.
The aircraft, registered YL-CSL, features a red and white paint scheme that represents the colors of the Latvian flag as well as its name being Riga. The company unveiled the aircraft during a ceremony at Riga International Airport, where the president of the Republic of Latvia, Raimonds Vejonis, also attended.
Martin Gauss, the CEO of airBaltic, reflected on the event in the following statement:
“airBaltic team is delighted and honored o present a special gift to Latvia on its centenary, which is a historical event for every Latvian. We at airBaltic perceive ourselves as ambassadors of Latvia, and we use every opportunity to spread the word about Latvia as a beautiful, successful and flourishing country.”
This is the first time airBaltic has applied a livery on one of their aircraft that displays their national symbol – the Latvian flag. 15 painters, 250 liters of ground tint, paint and lacquer and 1000 hours of hard work developed this unique livery.
