The ACJ319neo, the corporate jet variant of the Airbus A319, has successfully performed its maiden flight, launching the short test campaign for the type.

Registered D-AVWG, the aircraft took off from Airbus’ Hamburg facilities on the 24th of April for a 1 hour and 57 minute flight.

Although the standard A319neo powered by CFM LEAP engines has been certified, Airbus has to conduct a short test campaign with the corporate jet variant to verify its additional features such as the extra fuel tanks and cabin.

With five additional fuel tanks installed in the cargo hold, the aircraft has the ability to fly 12,500km (6,750nm) non-stop, equating to about 15 hours flight time, as seen in the infographic above.

K5 Aviation will be receiving this aircraft in the coming weeks and will have a VVIP cabin installed by Fokker Techniek in the Netherlands following delivery.

Airbus notes it has orders and commitments for 14 A320neo Family corporate aircraft. 200 Airbus Corporate Jets are currently in service and are flying worldwide in every continent, including Antarctica.
