Earlier this month, we shared a deal for those traveling from the US to Southeast Asia on Qatar Airways Business Class. However, flying from the US and transferring through the Middle East to Asia takes much longer. There are a couple of nice deals flying Trans-Pacific from the US to Asia on Air China and China Southern.
The Deal

China Southern Business Class
China Southern Airlines offers 1-2-1 staggered full-flat Business Class seats on all their long-haul fleets. Below is a picture of the Business Class on their Airbus A350-900XWB.

Credit This Deal
This deal books into R fare class on Air China’s long-haul flights and I fare class on China Southern. Air China is a member of Star Alliance, so this ticket can be credited to all Star Alliance airlines.

China Southern just left SkyTeam earlier so they do not currently belong to any world alliance. However, they do have a partnership with American Airlines.
Bottom Line
This is a great deal for travellers planning to visit Asia. There is plenty of availability until next year and the distance is good for mileage accruals. Although these two airlines do not offer the best Business Class products in the world, you would still find it quite comfortable.
How do you feel about the prices? Are you going to take advantage of this deal?

A better strategy may be to work with North American travel agencies that sell discounted business and first class tickets.
US travelers beware of mainland Chinese carriers. I accidentally booked the same flight on China Southern twice when I thought the first booking failed due to their website crashing on the first attempt. 3 days later they processed both tickets on my credit card. I had to call China 10 times and incur multiple long distance charges and even change my cell phone plan to get the tickets refunded. They wanted my passport photos emailed via pdf in order to get a refund. But their Chinese firewalls held up the emails for days. They finally received the information but withheld $150 per ticket as a processing fee. Never again. We take for granted the customer service we receive from Non mainland Chinese carriers. The whole matter would have been sorted out in 15 minutes with Cathay or Singapore. Not with China Southern.
So where is the 1250 deal?
Hi Nico, sorry about causing this confusion. There was a fare out of Guangzhou on Air China for just $1,250, but it appears gone for now. The title is currently updated along with the table!
