So far, there are five airlines that have painted the number “100” on their Boeing B787 aircraft as a special livery. KLM and Qantas are both celebrating their 100th anniversary, Shanghai Airlines and Vietnam Airlines are celebrating the 100th aircraft in the fleet and Juneyao Air is celebrating the 100th B787 for China.
Qantas
According to Qantas, the newest B787 Dreamliner has rolled out of the paint shop at Boeing’s factory in Washington wearing a special Centenary livery; to celebrate the flying kangaroo’s 100th year in the skies.
The special livery features each of Qantas logos since their 1920 founding in outback Queensland, along with the newly unveiled ‘Qantas100’ imprint that will run across its Centenary celebrations.
The aircraft, Qantas’s tenth Dreamliner registration VH-ZNJ, is named “Longreach” – a nod to the Queensland town that was integral to the national carrier’s beginnings, its role in conquering the tyranny of distance and the Longreach series of retiring 747-400 jumbo jets.
The aircraft will operate the second of Qantas’ Project Sunrise research flights, flying non-stop from London to Sydney and replicating the journey of the first 747-400 delivery 30 years ago. It will then enter normal commercial service with Qantas International.
The story of Qantas is the story of modern Australia, and the logos on this livery tell that story from the beginning. Our Centenary celebrations are all about honouring our past with an eye on the future, so it’s very fitting that this special livery will be worn by our newest state-of-the-art Dreamliner. KLM

The latest addition to the KLM fleet is a Boeing B787-10 and is called ‘Orange Blossom’, with a special KLM100 logo on it. Below is a video about this aircraft from KLM.
Shanghai Airlines
Boeing and Shanghai Airlines celebrated the delivery of the carrier’s first B787-9 Dreamliner at the end of September.
The new airplane, with a special symbol of “100” on its fuselage, is the 100th airplane for Shanghai Airlines, a subsidiary of China Eastern Airlines.

Juneyao Air
Juneyao Air received their first Boeing B787 aircraft in October 2018. Now, after more than a year, the airline already has 5 in the fleet. The latest one, registered as B-20DT, will become the 100th Boeing B787 aircraft for China.
Vietnam Airlines
On October 22nd 2019, Vietnamese national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, welcomed their 100th aircraft in joining their fleet at Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) in Hanoi.
This opens up new development opportunities for Vietnam Airlines on its quest to leverage Vietnam’s aviation industry among leading airlines in the region and the world. The new generation fleet does not only supplements Vietnam’s national security and defense but also helps Vietnam Airlines strengthen its operational efficiency thanks to its reduced fuel consumption and emissions as well as service quality.
