From 28th March 2020, British Airways will be consolidating their Tokyo flights and will be operating solely out of Haneda – a much-preferred airport closer to the city, with more JAL domestic flight connections. In addition, British Airways will also be introducing a new soft product enhancement for its long haul Economy Class.
Flight Consolidation in Tokyo
Starting 28th March 2020, British Airways will be operating 2x daily out of Haneda, instead of the existing 1x daily out of Narita and Haneda. These 2x daily flights will be operated by the B777 and B787.
The flight schedules out of Haneda are as follows:
Boeing 777 Flight
BA 007 LHR to HND
10:55 – 07:35 (+1)
BA 008 HND to LHR
09:35 – 13:55
Boeing 787 Flight
BA 005 LHR to HND
13:55 to 10:55 (+1)
BA 006 HND to LHR
13:15 to 17:25
Long Haul Economy Class Soft Product Enhancement
British Airways will be introducing a new pillow, cushions and headrest covers for their long haul Economy Class. Although it is a very marginal enhancement, something is better than nothing.
According to British Airways, “The fresh white headrest covers, a new look bright blue cushion with a classic herringbone design and a new blanket in a super-soft fleece material will help customers to settle in and get comfy.”
One good point to takeaway, British Airways will be donating all the old items to charity and various projects in and outside of the UK.
