Luftwaffe Receives First Airbus ACJ350 XWB

On May 5th, Luftwaffe – German Air Force received the first of three Airbus ACJ350 XWBs that have been on order.

The aircraft, performing ferry flight MSN426, arrived at Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport, coming from the Airbus Toulouse site. The Airbus ACJA350 XWB now with registration F-WJKM (before was F-WZFF) will be 10+03.

According to Aerotelegraph, the aircraft will be equipped with a missile defence system, a large conference room, offices and military radio equipment. The A350 will now go to Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg, to receive the special equipment.

One year ago, Airbus confirmed that the German government had placed a firm order for three ACJ350-900 XWBs, becoming the first government customer for the type. The other two aircraft will be delivered in 2022.

The aircraft are destined for a mix of government, troop transport and medical evacuation roles.
