Boeing Completes 737 Max Certification Flights

Boeing, along with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), have completed a series of certification flight tests on the Boeing 737 MAX.

Over three days, FAA test pilots, and engineers, evaluated Boeing’s proposed changes in connection with the automated flight control system on the aircraft.

“While completion of the flights is an important milestone a number of key tasks remain, including evaluating the data gathered during these flights.”

FAA

“The agency is following a deliberate process and will take the time it needs to thoroughly review Boeing’s work. We will lift the grounding order only after FAA safety experts are satisfied that the aircraft meets certification standards.”

The FAA still needs to issue certificates of airworthiness and approve training programmes before it can officially un-ground the aircraft.

The B737 MAX has been grounded for 15 months following two fatal crashes.

It is currently on schedule to be cleared for service by US regulators before the end of the year, if there are no more setbacks.

  1. Why did they use a Max 7 and not the Max 8? Surely you would want to check that one in testing to see that it works?!

  2. I do not care how much has been done,I WILL NEVER fly on one!! Why? Too old, ancient design, better planes out there in that market field of operations and its ugly & rabbit hutch interior!

The A220 ,A320,A321’s NEO’s are far better and even Embraer small jet division! Boeing should have created a new plane for a new age! Cheapskate design and i feel & fear there will be more problems! I truly hope that does not result in more air accidents. So Viewers, its your life and your choice, pay at bit more and fly on something decent of our times.Example a bigger A220,the 500 version! A220 is a beautiful small plane with an amazing, airy interior and big windows! Smashes the B737 max in everyway! Why do you think Delta and American and Canadian are buying them in huge numbers? Superior and one of the versions is built in America to keep Americans happy and intise US operators to buy the A220 as built by Americans for Airbus America.

You know i always wandered why Delta and AA when they first bought B777’s with RR engines, the engines did not show the maker/brand RR badge?? Why? I am guessing as most who fly could not give a rat’s ass so to speak as long as it flys and lands but others looking out of the window would be diss-pleased not seeing a Pratt&Witney or GE logo! Americans are like that! Then choose not to fly with them as of it? I can imagine it!

    1. Your comment is very insulting and should be removed. Boeing is fixing this problem and is working tirelessly on it. Many people still like Boeing and the 737, and trust it. Airbus is not an American brand and does not have any American brand associated with it, it is international. It is Boeing’s choice to choose GE, P&W, or RR engines for their planes, not yours. If you aren’t going to say anything nice, don’t say it! Ranting won’t make people listen to you.
