AerCaribe AN-32 Veers Off Runway at Peru

An AerCaribe Antonov An-32 veered off the runway at Iquitos Airport, Peru.

AerCaribe states that the aircraft, registered OB-2120P, was performing a cargo flight from Lima to Iquitos on 14th October. The Antonov, carrying four crew members, veered off the runway, broke up and burst into flames.

Photos from the crash site show the substantial damage the aircraft sustained.

The aircraft was on approach to Iquitos’s runway 06 when it reported mechanical problems with the landing gear, according to the AvHerald.

The crew members were rescued and taken to hospital with minor injuries
