Starlux Airlines has unveiled its new Airbus A350 First Class, Business Class, and Premium Economy cabins.
The Taiwan-based carrier recently took delivery of its first Airbus A350-900 and is looking forward to taking delivery of 17 more A350 jets. Currently, Starlux operates an all-Airbus fleet of Airbus A321neos and Airbus A330-900neos, primarily on short and medium-haul routes. It will deploy its flagship A350s on long-haul flights.
Starlux’s A350 will be configured in a four-class configuration and will initially fly to major cities within the Asia-Pacific region and start operations to Los Angeles in April 2023.
Starlux Airlines A350-900 First Class
The Airbus A350-900 will feature four first-class suites in a 1-2-1 configuration. First Class suites will have a 60-inch door wall, allowing the passengers to have a personal suite on the aircraft. In addition, a personal wardrobe will be provided to store luggage.
First-class passengers can enjoy 4K resolution with a 32-inch screen with Bluetooth audio and a zero gravity seat setting. Seats in the first class can be converted into a fully lie-flat bed.
Starlux Airlines A350-900 Business Class
The Airbus A350-900 will feature 26 business-class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. Seats in business class can also be converted into a fully lie-flat bed, and also come with a zero gravity seat setting. Each seat is equipped with a 24-inch 4k screen and passengers can use Bluetooth to connect to their own headphones.
However, the business class seats may seem similar to first class with multiple common features apart from the 60-inch doors in first class (compared to 48-inch doors in business) and a larger screen size in first class. I guess the pricing won’t differ by a huge margin!
Starlux Airlines A350-900 Premium Economy Class
The Airbus A350-900 will feature 36 Premium Economy seats in a 2-4-2 configuration with a leg rest and footrest bar.
Premium Economy seats feature a 15.6-inch 4k screen with Bluetooth audio.
Starlux Airlines A350-900 Economy Class
The A350-900 will feature 240 economy seats in a 3-3-3 configuration equipped with 13-inch 4K screens with Bluetooth audio.
Dimmable Windows And A Larger Cabin
As well as new cabins, Starlux A350 also features the latest electrical dimmable windows, blocking 99.99% of visible light, switching twice the speed of the previous generation. It is the first A350 to put these new windows into service.
Compared with other A350s in service today, the new A350-900 for Starlux also has a larger cabin which is wider by 4 inches and longer by 35 inches, providing more room for passengers in all classes, and also larger galleys for the cabin crew.
Starlux’s Routes And Latest Fleet Development
Currently, Starlux operates flights from its hub at Taoyuan International to 14 destinations in the Asia-Pacific region, including Macau, Sapporo, Penang, Bangkok, Osaka, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City, Manila, Cebu, and Singapore.
Obviously, majority of the flights are operated by the A321neos whereas the A330neos are deployed primarily on flights to Bangkok, Tokyo, Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City.
As of the 4th of November, Starlux has a fleet of eleven A321neos, four A330neos, and one A350-900. By the end of the year, the airline plans to take delivery of two more A321neos and an additional A350-900.
