Every month, Air France–KLM’s Flying Blue program publishes promotional rewards where you can book award seats at heavily discounted prices.
Additionally, the Flying Blue program also launched its latest buy miles promotions where you can get up to a 100% bonus or 50% off when buying miles. This makes the promo award very useful.
Flying Blue Promo Rewards May 2023
Air France–KLM Flying Blue has published its Promo Rewards for May 2023 where you can redeem Flying Blue miles online through May 31, 2023, and enjoy up to a 25% redemption discount off Economy Class and Business Class on select routes.
The Flying Blue program uses dynamic award pricing which means, even with the discounts, the redemption rates may vary on certain flight schedules.
For this month’s promotions, you must book the flight by May 31, 2023, and travel by October 31, 2023. The promo rewards are especially great for transatlantic routes. Here are the discounts on long-haul routes:

As I mentioned above, I cannot give the fixed Business Class award pricing as the program is dynamic, however, I have found some great transatlantic awards as low as 70,000 miles on selected dates throughout October 31.

Buy Flying Blue Miles With Bonus Or Discount
Coincidently, Through June 11, 2023, the Flying Blue program is offering a buy miles promotion so if you have limited miles, this is a great chance to buy miles at lower rates per point and redeem for the promo awards. Keep in mind that there are two different offers targeted to different members:
- Up to 100% bonus
- Up to 50% discount
The miles are sold in tiers and you can buy up to 100,000 miles for “Explorist” status and an unlimited number of miles for elite members(Silver and above).
- Purchase 4,000 to 10,000 miles and receive a 50% bonus or 35% discount
- Purchase 12,000 to 22,000 miles and receive a 70% bonus or 40% discount
- Purchase 24,000 to 100,000 miles and receive a 100% bonus or 50% discount
Advantage of Buying Miles
For example, a one-way Business Class cost 70,000 miles. With the bonus or discount offer, you can purchase the miles at 1.52 cents each which you can pay $1,067 for to get 70,000 miles. A regular one-way Business Class flight between the US and Europe generally cost $4,000. That said, you have to make sure the seat is available for miles redemption.
Summary
Air France–KLM’s Flying Blue program published the promo awards for May 2023 offering discounted award tickets on select routes where you can save 25% off awards. Thankfully, there are some promotions for the Business Class seat awards this time.
Furthermore, through June 11, 2023, you can take advantage of the buy miles promotion to redeem the awards at much cheaper rates than the revenue fares.
