New Airline: BBN Airlines Indonesia

BBN Airlines Indonesia, a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI provider (aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance) was established in 2022. Operating from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Indonesia.

The airline was granted a cargo Airline Operator Certificate (AOC) on August 31, 2023, for two B737-800BCF aircraft.

ACMI is considered relatively new in Indonesia, and there are very few service providers. With this expertise in hand, BBN Airlines Indonesia is expected to give an extra boost to support the ever-growing aviation needs in Indonesia.

“The AOC is a testament to our serious commitment and readiness to support Indonesia’s aviation needs, in all sectors from airlines, tour operators, and cargo, to logistics. We have witnessed a high demand for aircraft provision, especially during high seasons such as Umrah, Haj, Eid, and other special holidays that result in a large surge in goods distribution, and we have conducted thorough research on that.”

Boost Passenger Flight Operation

BBN Airlines Indonesia has recently obtained an additional Air Operator Certificate (AOC) for commercial passenger flights from the Indonesia DGCA. This certification reaffirms the airline’s readiness to operate aircraft for commercial purposes.

Martynas Grigas, Chairman of BBN Airlines Indonesia, stated, “With the issuance of this AOC, BBN Airlines Indonesia aims to bring more capacity to the region, and deliver a high standard of safety and service in the air travel experience.”

According to Martynas, this certification marks the initial step for BBN Airlines Indonesia to meet the substantial demand for flights, particularly during major holidays such as Eid al-Fitr and the holiday season in Indonesia.

“In addition to the considerable demand for domestic flights, there is also high demand from India and China. Therefore, BBN Airlines Indonesia has organized its operational area, covering the Asia-Pacific region, allowing the company to not only serve domestic needs but also cater to requests from neighboring countries in that region,”

Fleet Expansion

The airline recently announced to triple its fleet, with the addition of four new aircraft to its fleet with the delivery of one B737-400SF and three B737-800NG aircraft.

The aircraft will be used for both domestic and international routes, with a focus on the China to Bali route. Martynas Grigas, Chairman of BBN Airlines Indonesia, said.

“Since ACMI providers are still a rarity in Asia, BBN Airlines Indonesia is expected to give an extra boost to support the ever-growing aviation needs in Indonesia. This expansion will allow us to better serve our customers and meet the growing demand from airline, logistics, and tour operator companies.”
