ANA Unveils “THE Room FX” Business Class Suite

  • Full flat seat with sliding privacy door
  • 103-inch pitch with a sofa-like recline feature
  • 24-inch HD monitor with Bluetooth audio
  • Wireless charging, USB-A & USB-C ports, AC power
  • Seat width of up to 41.5 inches (105 cm)

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has officially unveiled its next-generation business class product, “THE Room FX”, at the 2025 Paris Air Show. Developed in collaboration with French seatmaker Safran Seats and UK-based design firm Acumen, this marks the first major revamp of ANA’s Boeing 787-9 long-haul cabins in over a decade.

Set to debut in 2026, THE Room FX builds on the “THE Room” concept first introduced on the Boeing 777-300ER. The name “FX” stands for Future Experience, and the seat reflects that with new amenities and enhanced flexibility for passengers.

Moreover, the cabin will be laid out in a 1-2-1 configuration, offering 48 suites across 12 rows. Seats alternate between forward- and rear-facing orientations and are enclosed by full privacy doors. Unlike conventional recliners, THE Room FX uses a fixed backrest design similar to Finnair’s new business class, transitioning into bed mode with a sliding mechanism.

A Decade in the Making

This new seat design is exclusive to ANA and was engineered specifically for the Boeing 787-9 after years of research and development. According to Tomoji Ishii, Executive VP of Customer Experience at ANA, “This seat represents our commitment to exceeding expectations and shaping the future of luxury flight.”

“At Safran Seats, we are proud to deepen our long-standing partnership with ANA through the launch of ‘THE Room FX’. This new business class seat represents a step-change in comfort, versatility, and innovative design for the Boeing 787-9. By combining our engineering expertise with ANA’s commitment to passenger excellence and Acumen’s creative vision, we are setting new benchmarks in the world of premium air travel,” said Victoria Foy, President & CEO of Safran Seats.

VietJet To Order 100 Airbus A321neo

VietJet has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the purchase of 100 A321neo aircraft, with the potential to expand the deal by an additional 50 jets. The agreement was signed at the 2025 Paris Air Show by Vietjet CEO Dinh Viet Phuong and Airbus Executive Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Sales, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry.

The A321neo deal follows closely on the heels of Vietjet’s recent order for additional A330neo widebodies, highlighting the airline’s long-term commitment to Airbus as it scales its operations.

“Our latest agreement comes just weeks after the airline placed an additional order for A330neo widebody aircraft. Together, the A321neo and A330neo will be perfect partners for Vietjet to continue to spread its wings, efficiently matching capacity more closely to demand across its network. The airline will also benefit from the high levels of technical commonality that are unique to the latest generation Airbus aircraft,” said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business.
