Should You Purchase Hilton Points?

Two years ago, Hilton has changed from fixed-rate redemption to dynamic rate redemption. Fortunately, they put a maximum limit to the amount they will charge for each hotel category. Redemption rates vary throughout the year.

Here is an example of how you can spend your points when you purchase at 0.5 US cents per point. Note that prices in the screenshot after before tax. Redemption stay is not bounded tax.

As a general rule of thumb, although Hilton adopts dynamic pricing, you should check the rates of your desired hotels before making a purchase. While you can gain savings if you book your hotels through points, there are instances where it is cheaper to use money to book your hotels. Nevertheless, this points promotion should also appeal to you if you are short of Hilton points to redeem your desired holiday.

  1. with Hilton now avging .035 cents per pt when cashing in why pay .05 cents per point.
If you do buy them you better use them within a couple of weeks before Hilton lowers the cashout rate below .035

Ive seen my share of Hamptons needing 40-50k when the rate was < $100

Finding a cashout rate with any value is gonna be a hard thing to do
