What’s Going on with Scandinavian Airlines? A350 Polar Flight

I traveled on Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) Airbus A350 Polar flight from Los Angeles to Copenhagen. We encountered the spectacular northern light. Can the “new” SAS make it this time after being out of bankruptcy?

Starting my journey from Los Angeles International Airport, all 8 LAX terminals are joined together by an internal walkway so you can transit easily across terminals. I visited the Air France lounge briefly before taking my first SAS A350 flight. SAS pioneered the Polar route which links Scandinavia and Los Angeles since 1954.

I explore all the cabins of the SAS A350 and check out their food and beverage offerings. 3 hours into the flight in Northern Canada, the awesome northern light appeared and the best view was from the A350 cockpit. Join me for the landing in Copenhagen with a great view.

During my transit in Copenhagen, I visited the SAS lounge briefly before joining another SAS flight to Amsterdam onboard the A320neo. During the flight, the pilot demonstrated several fuel and emission-saving initiatives, such as starting one engine during taxi, constant descend approach (CDA), and taxi on one engine.
