Arabian Travel Market (ATM) is the market leading, international travel and tourism event unlocking business potential within the Middle East for inbound and outbound tourism professionals. It is held in Dubai every year.
Tourism destinations from around the world showcase a diverse range of accommodation options, breath taking tourism attractions, travel technology and key airline routes.
I went to ATM today and there are thousands of exhibitors showcasing their product and meeting interested parties. I focus on the airlines showcasing their latest products in this trade show.
Emirates
Emirates is a major sponsor of the Arabian Travel Market and they have a large stand in Hall C. This year, Emirates display their latest B777 flat bed business class seats mock up among other products.
I was given a thorough briefing on the new flat bed which I think is a huge improvement. The seat itself is nicely padded and fully electronically operated. Of course, I will have to wait a little more to do a full review onboard one of the newly delivered B777-300/ER to test out the full product in real.
It features the following:
- Full flat bed with mattress and plush pillow.
- Tablet Control
- A mini bar in each seat
- 21 inch (biggest) Business Class screen.
Emirates also display a full mock up of the highly popular A380 Onboard Lounge in ATM this year. The new onboard lounge feature an upgraded interior and upholstery given a more luxury and cozy atmosphere. There are champagne flute shaped flower display on each side and curtains mounted to the window.

Etihad
Abu Dhabi based Etihad Airways also have a major presence in ATM. They have all their onboard products display in a truck, which is quite clever I think!

The Residence 3 room product is also on display.
Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways proudly display their new Q-Suite, a first in Business Class at ATM. It is very exciting to see the mock up just two months after they unveiled it in ITB Berlin.
The centerpiece is a 4 seats family suite in the middle. Each suite come with its own door and divider, but the middle can be opened to form a couple suite of 2 or family suite of 4 to face each other and dine together! Every suite have direct aisle access. There is also a small ottoman seat next to the main seat! The picture below is taken while seated on the ottoman next to the main seat.
I also tried out the individual Q-Suite on the aisle which feels very private. Again, I can't wait to test the real product which will be featured on their B777s later this year.

Saudia
Saudi Arabian Airlines also have a large stand in ATM. They are showcasing their new First Class Suite which looks very nice and comes with full privacy. (Similar to Etihad B777 First Class suite)Oman Air
Oman Air also have a stand showcasing their new Business Class. It is a forward facing in staggered lay out. You can see the actual product in my review here. The new product is on the Boeing 787 and selected 2 class A330.It is really nice to see the mock up at ATM from these major airline in the Middle East. I hope I will get a chance to sample the real product very soon this year!
