FARNBOROUGH: Qatar Airways completes Boeing 777 Freighter order

Qatar Airways has finalized their order with Boeing for five 777 Freighter aircraft.

The commitment was originally made in April of this year and has now been firmed. The deal is worth $1.7 billion at list prices.

In addition, Qatar Airways also signed a contract with CAE Systems to provide five 7000XR full-flight simulators and one cabin training device for the 777x and 737 MAX.

The signing ceremony was joined by Qatar’s Minister of Finance and Qatar Airways Chairman, His Excellency Ali Shareef Al Emadi. Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, was also on the panel to sign the papers.

The order represents rapidly climbing global freight operations as seen earlier with more airlines ordering new freighters.

Boeing is said to be offering extremely competitive, end-of-the-line prices for 777 Freighters to bridge the gap between 777 production and 777x production.
