FARNBOROUGH: United places order for Embraer and Boeing aircraft
United Airlines has placed an order for 25 Embraer E175 aircraft and four Boeing 787-9s at the Farnborough Air Show.
At list prices, each deal is worth roughly $1.1 billion dollars. Deliveries of the Embraer aircraft are set to begin during the second quarter of 2019 and 2020 is set for the 787-9 arrival.
United will place the aircraft in the hands of its regional United Express airline, who already operates the type. The aircraft will be used to replace 25 CRJ 700s in their fleet.
The 787s will be used to expand the airlines existing 787 fleet. The aircraft will feature the same cabin and amenities that the existing 787s offer.
As per their fleet, GEnx engines will power the 787s.
