Qatar Airways has what I consider to be the worlds best business class. All QSuites seats come with a sliding door providing the utmost privacy. Match that with the excellent service, food, and amenities and you have a real winner.
The QSuites product initially debuted in 2017. Qatar has been steadily refitting their aircraft with the QSuites product since then. Qatar has just announced that LAX will be the next destination to get the QSuite.
As of February 2, 2019 the QSuites equipped plane will operate with the following schedule:
QR739 Doha to Los Angeles departing 8:00AM arriving 1:20PM
QR740 Los Angeles to Doha departing 3:05PM arriving 5:55PM (+1 day)
QSuites are also currently available to around 23 other routes.
Use Award Miles
It is possible to use any oneworld partner miles on Qatar Airways. You probably want to avoid using programs like Qatar Airways QMiles or British Airways Avios as you can expect to pay carrier imposed charges. American Airlines will be the best program to search and book these flights. AA recently added the ability to search for Qatar Airways awards without having to call in to find the availability. There has consistently been between 2-4 seats available per flight. For 70,000 points you can fly in Business class to the Middle East or India.
For those who enjoy flying and are having trouble finding affordable award space to Australia, you can get a little more creative using Qatar and the QSuites. You can fly from LAX-DOH-SYD for 150k in business class one way using 2 separate awards. It almost always will come out cheaper than the American Airlines AAnytime award on the direct flight.
