UAE’s Capital announced that the emirate of Abu Dhabi will be welcoming tourists from December 24th 2020.
“Following the successes achieved by implementing the precautionary measures to curb the spread of Covid-19, and maintaining a low rate of confirmed cases, Abu Dhabi will welcome back international tourists from 24 December 2020.”

The Department of Culture and Tourism outlined the rules for before departure, upon arrival and after entering Abu Dhabi.
The procedures approved for international travellers, both residents and tourists, include exempting travellers from ‘green’ countries from quarantine; there by reducing the quarantine period for travellers coming from other countries to 10 days only. Country classifications will be reviewed fortnightly.
All travellers will need to undertake a PCR test on day 6 (if they are staying 6 or more consecutive days) as well as on day 12 (if they are staying 12 or more consecutive days).
New global travel restrictions are currently impacting travel across India, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the UK.
Flying on Etihad – PCR Test is Mandatory
COVID-19 PCR testing is mandatory before every flight.
Depending on where you are flying to or from, your test must be carried out between 48, 72 or 96 hours ahead of your flight departure time.
Children under 12 and people with severe and moderate disabilities are exempt from COVID-19 PCR testing, though this is subject to the regulations at your destination.
The PCR Test requirement is for all passengers flying from Abu Dhabi and transit Abu Dhabi.
