France to Open from 9th June
In May, the president of France announced that the country would welcome vaccinated tourists outside of the EU from 9th June 2021. France will open to travellers from foreign countries with the system outlined below. France categorizes countries as Green, Orange or Red and a different set of rules applies to each.
Green, Orange and Red Classification
GREEN & Fully vaccinated: Welcomed & no tests required
GREEN & Not vaccinated: Welcomed with a PCR-RT/antigen test not older than 72 hours
ORANGE & Fully vaccinated: Welcomed with a PCR-RT (72 hours)/antigen (48 hours) test
ORANGE & Not vaccinated: Essential travel only, PCR-RT test & quarantine of 7 days
RED: Essential travel only, PCR-RT test and 7 or 10 days of quarantine depending on whether vaccinated or not
Country classification as of June 2nd 2021
"Green" countries
- No active circulation of the virus, no variants of concern identified
- European area, Australia, South Korea, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, New Zealand and Singapore
"Orange" country
- Active circulation of the virus in controlled proportions, without dissemination of worrying variants
- All countries, excluding countries defined as "green" and "red".
"Red" countries
- Active virus circulation, presence of variants of concern
- Argentina, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Turkey, Uruguay and South Africa
Vaccines Accepted by France
These are the vaccines recognized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA): Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.
Proof of vaccination is only valid if it demonstrates completion of a complete immunization schedule IE:
• 2 weeks after the second injection for double injection vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca)
• 4 weeks after injection for vaccines with a single injection (Johnson & Johnson)
• 2 weeks after the injection for vaccines in people who have had a history of Covid-19 (only 1 injection required)

Spain to Open from 7th June
Spain is opening its borders to all fully vaccinated visitors, regardless of their origin, from Monday (7th June, 2021). The only requirement is that the visitors must have been fully vaccinated for at least 14 days.
Visitors can enter Spain from Monday without test or quarantine requirements, if they can prove that they have been fully vaccinated for at least 14 days.
Vaccines Accepted by Spain
Spain accepts visitors who have been inoculated with vaccines from either EMA’s (European Medicines Agency) or World Health Organisation’s (WHO) emergency use list.
The EMA list covers Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. The WHO has recently added two additional Chinese vaccines to their list (Sinopharm & Sinovac).
