My Trip to Seychelles – Travel Authorization and Air Seychelles Flights

I flew to the paradise of the Seychelles in April. It was a remarkable and a most relaxing experience, I even managed some cool island-hopping flights while I was there!

To Obtain Travel Authorization

With the introduction of Travizory’s Visitor Management Platform, the Seychelles has managed to successfully and safely reopen to the world. You do need to obtain a Travel Authorization to visit the Seychelles, but it is a straightforward application. Here is what you need to do:

Six easy steps to get to the Seychelles:

Step 1: Download the Seychelles Islands Travel Authorization app, or visit the website, on your mobile device or laptop.

As soon as you have received your negative COVID-19 PCR test result, you can submit your application.

Step 2: Fill in some basic passenger details and upload an image of your passport.

Step 3: Upload a current picture of yourself or take a selfie on-the-go.

Step 4: Add your contact information and details of your stay in the Seychelles.

Step 5: Upload your health certificates, such as PCR test results and vaccination certificates.

Step 6: Submit for approval, sit back and relax!

The whole process was extremely easy and responsive. Once I had my PCR test results I just logged onto the website and filled in a form, uploading my documents along the way. I got my approval confirmation email in just under 30 minutes! I received a QR code via email, which I just saved on my smartphone for use while traveling.

This was then scanned at both ends, at my point of departure and upon my arrival at the Seychelles, without the need for any long queues or further paperwork checks.

Air Seychelles A320

Air Seychelles has been operating ad-hoc charter flights between Dubai and the Seychelles since the Seychelles re-opened. I flew on their A320neo to/from Seychelles. Flight time from Dubai to Mahé Island was 4 hours.

My Stay in Seychelles

I stayed at the Hilton Northolme Resort in Mahé Island. It is probably the smallest Hilton hotel out there, with a very boutique and private feel. It has beautiful surroundings and many of their villas feature a private pool. Not just me, but quite a few people have escaped COVID to come to the Seychelles to work or just take in the this beautiful and relaxing setting.

Island Hopping to Praslin

I took a day trip flying the Twin Otter on Air Seychelles from Mahé to Praslin and back. Air Seychelles operates 10 or 11 roundtrips per day and the flights are about 10-15 minutes in duration.

My entire stay in the Seychelles was smooth, it felt like a paradise where time slows down for you to enjoy and recharge. It was certainly a great escape from the current COVID stress and tension. The Seychelles isn't targeting mass tourism, it is boutique with a focus on privacy and quality.
