Flying KLM B747-400 Combi with Horses!

I traveled on KLM B747-400 Combi from Amsterdam to Mexico City with a behind the scenes tour inside the KLM B747. First, I visited the newly renovated KLM Crown Lounge. The 2nd floor is a paid restaurant and bar with open terrace and good plane views. First floor has the usual free buffet, drinks, shower room and nice bedroom. I recommend lounge user to go to 2nd floor for more space.

On the KLM B747-400 Combi flight, senior purser Eline gave me a behind the scenes tour on many unique feature inside the KLM B747 such as the long galley, elevator inside the plane, crew rest and cargo deck behind passenger compartment. To my surprise, there were 10 horses traveling in the aft cabin with horse groom and other cargo. This makes the B747 Combi a distinct aircraft to be able to carry a mix load of passenger and cargo at the same time on the main deck.

This video pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of Boeing 747 first commercial flight on 21 Jan 1970 with Pan Am from New York to London.
