The World’s Biggest Airplane Model Collection

At a depressing time like COVID-19, I turned to my hobby such as die cast airplane model collecting!

Earlier this month, I visited my friend Elliot at Gemini Jets HQ in Las Vegas, NV. I take a look at the entire Gemini Jets collection in 1:200 and 1:400 scale on display.

These special die-cast aircraft models include Qantas B787 100th, Boeing 747 Dreamlifter, Thai Royal Barge 777-300, Lufthansa 747-8, Emirates A380, British Airways B747 and KLM B747. I also look at a model airport set up and the warehouse of Gemini Jets. The 1:200 A380 in Gemini Jets weighted 3.8 lbs, that's a lot of weight for an airplane model!

Are you a model airplane collector? If so, share with me your favorite airplane model.

  1. Hi Sam! Love your work on behalf of aviation, your photos and books! I have about 100 plane models in quite different conditions, some very broken, others very fine. My favorite is the Delta 1/200 Spirit of Delta which was my first one. I am also in love with my Gemini Jets 1/200 Iraqi Airways and all other models I have. My brother works at Alaska Airlines, he bought me two 737s in 1/200 scale which I also love, and a custom F-16 made for me by my nephew!
