Starlux Orders 8 Airbus A330neos

Taiwan’s airline STARLUX just ordered eight Airbus A330neos, this makes them the first carrier operating this type of aircraft in the country.

Yesterday, Airbus announced this order on social media and explained that the widebodies will be leased by Air Lease Corporation (ALC).

According to Taiwanese news site Apple Daily, STARLUX could take the first A330neo as early as late next year and this will be followed by the lease of three additional A321neos.

Last year the airline signed a purchase agreement for 17 A350 aircraft – 12 -1000s and five -900s variants. These aircraft are designed to include a First Class cabin.

Flight Global reports that the A350 deliveries have been delayed. The carrier was supposed to receive their first aircraft late next year, but this has been postponed to 2022.

STARLUX was launched in January 2020 and operates three routes from Taipei Taoyuan to Macau, Da Nang and Penang. It has a fleet of three A321neos powered by CFM engines.
