BREAKING: Boeing 707 crashes near Tehran
A Iranian Air Force (Saha Airlines) Boeing 707 cargo aircraft has crashed in the outer regions of Tehran, with reports stating 16 members were onboard at the time.
Fatality wise, emergency teams recovered 16 bodies from the site, with one being a surviving crew member, specifically a flight engineer.
Authorities state the aircraft was flying from Bishkek to Karaj’s Payam Airport carrying a large amount of meat as cargo when the aircraft turned towards Fath Airport, which cannot handle a 707-like aircraft.
Once touched down at the wrong airport, the aircraft overran the runway, leaving perimeter fences and land with extensive damage before plowing into a residential area, setting alight.
The Iranian Air Force was quick to identify the aircraft as EP-CPP, which is a 42 year old Boeing 707 belonging to Saha Airlines.
The following Twitter posts show the aircraft in flames and its wreckage:

Personal note from Sam Chui on Instagram:
Sam made a couple of reports on the Saha Air Boeing 707, with one dating back to 2006. Check them out bellow by clicking on link:

Additional information to come as it appears.
Update 1 (10:21pm AEDT) – Adjusted information based on new reports from multiple sources including The Aviation Herald.

According to Flight Global and Planespotters.net the plane registered EP-CPP belongs to the Iranian Air Force, the livery of the aircraft is consistent with this fact.
Sorry to hear this happen.

By Simon Hradecky, created Monday, Jan 14th 2019 07:52Z, last updated Monday, Jan 14th 2019 08:50Z
A Saha Airlines Boeing 707-300 freighter, registration EP-CPP performing a freight flight from Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) to Karaj (Iran) with 16 crew and a cargo of meat, was on approach to Karaj’s Payam Airport’s runway 30 (length 3660 meters/12,000 feet) when the crew descended towards and landed on Fath’s airport 31L (length 1000 meters/3300 feet), overran the runway, broke through an airport perimeter wall, crashed into houses past the end of the runway and burst into flames at about 08:30L (03:00Z). So far one survivor (the flight engineer) and 16 bodies have been recovered. A number of houses were damaged.
Emergency services reported 16 bodies (15 male, 1 female) have been recovered so far. One survivor was taken to a hospital.
Another aircraft had confused the same airports but gone around in time, see Incident: Taban MD88 at Karaj on Nov 16th 2018, went around from very low height at wrong airport.
Iran’s Air Force confirmed the aircraft belonged to Saha Airlines. The only survivor recovered so far was the flight engineer on board of the aircraft.
Looks like the plane that crashed was an Iran Airforce Boeing 707, registration EP-CPP
