Boeing Scored First B737 MAX Order Since November

737 MAX FAA AD

Enter Air from Poland agree with a new order for two 737 MAX 8 airplanes plus options for two more jets.

In the press release, Enter Air’s general director, Grzegorz Polaniecki, expressed his airline’s commitment to the B737 family of aircraft:

“Despite the current crisis, it is important to think about the future. To that end, we have agreed to order additional 737-8 aircraft. Following the rigorous checks that the 737 MAX is undergoing, I am convinced it will be the best aircraft in the world for many years to come.”

Rename of 737 MAX?

Some media outlets began to speculate a name change after Enter Air placed an order for two 737 MAX-8 aircraft. Aside from being the first MAX order of 2020, Boeing consistently referred to the aircraft as the 737-8.

Boeing has confirmed that they are not renaming their 737 MAX, after they published a press release referring to the aircraft as the “737-8”.

A Boeing spokeswoman confirmed to SamChui.com that the aircraft has not been rebranded, but instead was clarifying the technicalities.

We were just using the technical designation, 737-8, to distinguish the variant as there are five in the MAX family (-7, -8, -9, -10 and high capacity MAX 200)

FAA 737 MAX Design Changes

Enter Air’s total order is for two MAX 8 aircraft, but the Warsaw-based airline has also secured options for a further two. It is highly likely that Enter Air received a discount for the struggling aircraft.

In its most recent update, Boeing confirmed that over 400 737 MAX aircraft orders have been cancelled throughout 2020. The Seattle-based plane maker is hoping to regain certification from the FAA within the year.

4 Key Changes Outlined by FAA

The FAA has proposed four key design changes that will help get the aircraft flying again:

  • Installing updated flight control software (with new control laws) for the FCC operational program software (OPS)
  • Installing updated MDS display processing computer (DPC) software to generate an AOA disagree alert
  • Revising certain AFM flight crew operating procedures
  • Changing the routing of horizontal stabiliser trim wires

What do you think the future is for the 737 MAX? Will Boeing change their name in the future? Let us know in the comments.

  1. EASA is and will be in total disagreement for the new certification 737-Max. Without EASA certification it will not fly in europe or asia.
Boeing to save, it will become a plane that only americaines companies will operate, and only in the sky of north america.
Boeing will launch it in a new aircraft to replace the 737-max.

  2. Regarding B-737 MAX recertification program done by FAA completely with there is a change or modification on the system, we recommend to more carefully to do the last defenses as :
    – New technology reviewed
    – Regulation involves
    – Training is a must
