United expands order book with latest Boeing order

United Airlines has expanded their order book by placing top-up orders for Boeing wide and narrow body aircraft, all of which were listed as unidentified in Boeing’s Order and Delivery results for 2018.

The deal, worth $4.5 billion at list prices, will see an additional 24 737 MAX aircraft joint the fleet, as well as four more 777-300ERs. United already operates 18 777-300ERs and 10 737 MAX 9s, with a further 125 737 MAX aircraft set to arrive over the years covering multiple variants.

Ihssane Mounir, Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales & Marketing for Boeing, reflected on United’s repeat order in the following statement:

“United Airlines has been instrumental to the phenomenal success of the Boeing 737 and 777 programs over the years. We are honored by United’s continued confidence in our people and our airplanes and services. We are proud to again extend our long-standing partnership with United Airlines with these latest orders.”

Configured in a three-class layout, United has 366 seats in each of their 777-300ERs, of which, 60 are United Polaris Business, 102 are United Economy Plus and 204 are standard economy.
