Aer Lingus unveils new livery
Aer Lingus has unveiled their new livery in an effort to bring a modern and fresh product to customers around their network.
Just like a lot of airlines appear to be transitioning to, the livery is dominated by a clean slate of white, with the main focus being the revised tail featuring a new shamrock and colour scheme.
Additionally, a shamrock has been added to the main entrance door to provide customers with a “warm Irish welcome as they board”.
For a full overview of the livery, see the breakdown image below:

The aircraft used at the unveiling event at Dublin Airport is EI-EDY, which is a nine year old Airbus A330-300 powered by two General Electric CF6 engines.
As well as the new livery, the refresh will also be applied across the entire brand, with safety cards, marketing, their website and more all receiving the modernized scheme. New uniforms will also be rolled out later this year, as seen in the preview image below.

Aer Lingus will also welcome the Airbus A321LR into its fleet this year, which it will deploy on existing and new routes. A new interior will be installed in these aircraft. Additionally, the airline is also examining the possibility of A330neos to replace their A330s down the line.
Sean Doyle, CEO of Aer Lingus, reflected on the refresh in the following statement:
“I’m delighted to present our brand refresh, which comes 20 years after Aer Lingus last invested in new brand livery, and reflects our position as a modern airline.
We have evolved from an Irish airline that flies internationally to an international airline that is proud to be Irish. In addition to the new brand identity and livery, we will also unveil a new uniform later this year and will welcome new A321LRs aircraft to our growing fleet.
The re-imagining of the Aer Lingus brand reflects Ireland in 2019. A society that is open, progressive, liberal, outward-looking and dynamic, an Ireland that is proudly European and has become the destination of choice for inward investment.”
The airline aims to have their entire fleet repainted by 2021.

As a comparison to their old livery:

Really boring. Just like every other airline. Everyone picks all-white because it weighs the least, which saves on fuel.
Unfortunately, it makes all airliners look the same. Too bad, as the green was very unique and distinctive.
The shamrock on the door to “welcome” the passengers? Apparently the corporate geeks don’t actually fly, as they would know that you never see the door when you board.
I like it! The old colors were dated and uninspiring. At least they have kept the shamrock on the tail. I suppose like any change we can react negatively to something new. But as time goes by we adjust, get used to the new , and start to accept it. Aer Lingus will continue to offer the same service. We’ll still recognize the airline with the new color scheme. Just give it a chance. It will grow on you!
And remember all airlines are run by big corporates! It’s not them against us (the little people)! Once the price is right, the airline gives a good service, and is safe personally I don’t care too much what color the plane is! But I understand we all have our own feelings about things like this!
Super boring… Just like most airlines these days
Too bad – they had such a beautiful livery to begin with. Perfectly modern and distinct with the sea of green.
How bland and unoriginal. Almost exactly the same as Lufthansa’s lackluster new livery, only with a shamrock in place of the crane. Typical decision made by big corporate boardroom guys, which is to say that it is uninspired and boring..
